A Unique Flavor

Also known as the "King of Mangoes" because of its delicious and tropically-fruity sweet taste. It also has a golden saffron-colored, non-fibrous tender texture and has a significantly thinner and shinier skin than its counterparts.

Aromatic Fragrance

Fully ripened Alphonso mangoes release an aromatic and fruity fragrance in the air. These qualities are attributed to a unique combination of geographical factors which are only present in Western India, especially near the coastlines of Gujarat and Maharashtra.

A Premium and Exclusive Mango Cultivation

The exquisite taste and flavor of the Alphonso Mango comes from a combination of factors. As ground and weather conditions required to cultivate this fruit are scarce, they are only produced in a very limited quantity each year. These mangoes are harvested only once a year during May or June, and most of the stock is sold and consumed locally within India. The rest is exported to countries such as the USA, UK, and Australia - countries with large Indian population. All these factors have made the Alphonso mangoes pricey in the market.

A Brief History

The Alphonso Mango was introduced to India in Goa by Alfonso de Albuquerque, a Portuguese explorer and military strategist who led many Portuguese invasions to India in the 15th century A.D. Overtime, Alphonso Mango plantations spread from Goa to various places in Maharashtra, as well as Southern India, and along India's western coast.
